ANDREAS FRIEDRICH: Born 1949 in Basel (Switzerland). Law degree. Entered Swiss diplomatic service 1976.

In his spare time, he plays regular recitals on the Swiss chimes and carillons since 1987. Some lessons with Arie Abbenes at the Netherlands Carillon School. Founder of the Guild of Carillonneurs and Campanologists of Switzerland and its president from 1991 until 1999. Vice-president of the World Carillon Federation since 1998.
